Neoperl® Aerators

General Detail:

Aerators are used to limit the maximum flow output of the taps on which they are installed.

Easy to incorporate into products with minimal engineering efforts and cost,  NEOPERL® solutions assist in meeting plumbing codes and standards.

Faucet Aerators are found in nearly all kitchen and lavatory faucets worldwide and are a key component in the overall performance of any faucet.

Common types of aerators used in hotels:

  • 2 L/minute aerators: typically used on public and staff restroom taps.
  • 4 L/minute aerators: typically used on guestroom taps.
  • 6 and 8 L/minute aerators: typically used on kitchen, bar and other work area taps.

Type of streams produced by aerators:

Spray stream: used for 2 L/minute.

When the flow rate is too low to produce an aerated or laminar stream, a spray device is used to produce a miniature shower pattern to provide full coverage of the hands during washing. Sprays are recommended for use in public lavatories.

Aerated stream: used for 4 L/minute and higher flow aerator.

Aerators introduce air into the water stream to produce a larger and whiter stream that is soft to the touch and non-splashing. Aerators are the usual choice for residential faucet applications.

Laminar stream:

Laminar stream straighteners produce a non-aerated water stream. Ideal for high-flow applications or health care facilities (no mix of water/air). NEOPERL® laminar spout-end devices deliver a crystal-clear and non-splashing stream.

Aerators fit all standard sizes.

Housing Type: select the right type of housing for your taps.

  • Male thread housings have threads on the outer surface of the housing.
  • Female thread housings have threads on the inner surface of the housing.
  • Dual thread housings have threads on both the inner and outer surfaces.

Benefits of NEOPERL® aerators

  • control with pressure compensating the stream straightness and diameter,
  • reduce splash by aerating the stream and eliminating side spray,
  • save water and reduce energy costs,
  • meet local plumbing codes and standards.
